If you are fortunate enough to live in an area that has a relatively consistent amount of wind, then taking advantage of it is an excellent opportunity to save money.  Although there are a variety of different generator plans to choose from including solar panels, bio-fuel and magnetic generators, wind turbines are by far the most cost effective.

Building your own wind turbine should not take more than a few hours of your time.  This is a project that the whole family can get involved in and although you probably won’t be able to generate enough power to run your entire home with just one turbine, it will definitely impact your electricity bill in a positive way.

So what is the cost to build it?

If you are looking just to build a wind turbine, then you can easily find fully integrated instruction manuals online for around $20.  If you are interested in building a wind turbine with the option to step up to building solar panels in the near future, then you can get an all in one package for $50.  Most of the solar panel instruction manuals come with wind turbine manuals as an added bonus.

Once you have your instruction manual, you will want to purchase all the required components. This will run you around $100.  If you have a well stocked tool box, the costs can be very much less.

You will want to ensure that you also have the full integration instructions included.  Batteries can be purchased but a good instruction manual will tell you than you don’t need to buy new or even second hand.  There are plenty of free batteries available if you know where to look.

  9. The free energy devices have been suppressed by the corporate world, because such devices, would allow people to create their own energy for free, which would ultimately shut down the big energy corporations, because people won’t need to pay anymore for electricity to fill their pockets.

  11. The writer of buildagenerator.net has written a superior article. I got your point and there is nothing to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not disagree with: My name is alex I will be back.

  13. Thanks for putting up this article. I’m unquestionably frustrated with struggling to search out relevant and rational commentary on this issue. Everybody today goes to the very far extremes to either drive home their viewpoint that either: everyone else in the planet is wrong, or two that everyone but them does not really understand the situation. Many thanks for your concise, applicable insight.

I am not sure the whole family will want to get involved but I take your point. It is always difficult to know how good the plan is that you may buy – price is not always a good indicator…

The best thing is to get hod of a few plans – maybe free ones – and then start to think about what type of generator you want to build. Maybe a simple Vertical Axis model first and then you can always build a highre efficiency model. In my view build simple first and get some power then develop and build more.. Here is a link to a site with lots of plans available some are free so worth downloading just to see th scope of a project.
